Some of the information on this page is taken from our resident Spirit and Psychic Art teacher, Diane Rayfields own website. The rest is Polgara's wording. Diane Rayfield is both a spirit artist AND psychic artist. But I thought they were the same thing you say. Well, no .... Spirit art is where a medium draws a picture of someone who has passed to spirit as evidence of their survival of the physical body. Psychic art is where a psychic draws a representation of a living persons aura (called an auragraph) and reads psychic information from it about the living person.
Diane explains spirit art on her website as ..... Spirit art is the ability to draw discarnate spirit people. How does this work? Well this varies between different artists. The best thing is to try and explain to you how it works for me... When I am working doing a demonstration without my paper and pastels, I generally work on all three faculties, clairvoyance, clairsentience and clairaudience. But when I am working with Spirit art,I do not see the spirit person but feel or sense them on the paper. Generally most spirit artists work with another medium who gives the clairaudience or messages while the artist concentrates on the drawing. The resulting portrait is then recognised as a friend or relative in the Spirit world. This is the preferred method of working. There are times when it is necessary for me to do both; this involves constantly changing the wavelength or vibration through which the information is received. Most Spirit artists have only 10 or 15 minutes in which to complete a portrait. Compare this with many weeks and months it takes an artist to complete a portrait of a living or incarnate person. Most public demonstrations last about one and a half hours, in this time the artist will produce 6 pictures. If I have the opportunity to paint a portrait in my studio of a spirit person (see the picture of Leonie, done in watercolour) then naturally having unlimited time, and a pure link, the finished result is more professional. Sometimes we get the opportunity to draw Spirit Guides, but these are only ever done, on request during a private sitting, as they do not always prove survival. Diane explains psychic art or auragraphs as ..... A psychic uses their psychic ability to tune into the aura surrounding you. They are then able to produce an auragraph, this will show the colours and symbols they see. they are then able to read the auragraph, which will be a representation of your physical and spiritual life. Although the reading of auragraphs is done on a psychic level, if the recipient is present during the reading then it is also possible to move on to a Spirit link and give proof of survival.
