There are multitudes of angels who serve God and protect human kind. The almighty angels such as Gabriel, and Michael are well known, yet there are those who go unnamed and serve human kind as well. These unknown angels intervene on our behalf as faithful protectors and stand beside us each day. I am certain that God's most almighty protectors have come to my rescue on occasion, and I humbly give thanks for their effort. However, I never take for granted or ignore the many angels who watch over me each day and are not well-known to anyone but me. These generous beings that guide our path and steer us from harm may never be identified unless an individual interested in their existence explores the subject matter. Some of these angels reside in the spiritual realm and remain unseen by the naked eyes, while others have chosen to walk among us. The point is that not all angels have names that we are familiar with and they come in many different sizes, shapes and forms. For some people part of their life plan during this earthly existence is to move unsuspectingly through the world and never discover the angels who guide their every step. But for those individuals who dare to acknowledge their existence, coming to know your guardian is a spiritual awakening.

I first became acquainted with my guardian angel later in life. The spiritual being who stood by my side, seemed shy and uninterested in discussing his appearance or what the other side was like. The more I interacted with my guardian the deeper my curiosity grew with regards to the existence of angels. As a medium, who uses meditation to contact the other side before readings, asking questions about angels during my pre-session practices seemed appropriate. As I invited those from the other side to come through and let me know if they had a message for a loved one on this side, I also asked them questions about their world and angels. Eventually, over the course of several meditations, as I sat in the meadow of time, several other guardians who stand beside and intervene on my behalf came through to me. I was pleased with how natural each contact felt.

As time went on, I continued to make an outreach to my guardians and mentors. Then during a meditation, the first of the guardians to identify themselves to me, sat down beside me in the meadow of time and I saw him quite clearly. I felt at peace when this interaction occurred. It was unlike any other experience in that I felt as if I had crossed a sacred line where trust would no longer be an issue. I knew that my ability to communicate with my guardian and those on the other side would take on yet another meaning. The door opened to the other side like it had never opened before.

As my interaction with my first angel guardian evolved I communed with him regularly. As I established certain goals in life I learned to meditate and invite my guardian to join me so that I could ask questions regarding my decisions. While the answers to my questions or requests were not necessarily immediately forthcoming, I did receive a response. Since our goals will follow a certain pattern depending on what mission we came to accomplish in life, the answers to the questions we ask regarding our pursuits may not be exactly what we thought we would hear. However, in my experience when I received a response or was moved in a direction contrary to my original goal, it always seems natural to follow the new course.

If you are interested in developing a relationship with your guardian angel this can be accomplished through meditation and focus. To achieve success will require the use of a deep relaxation exercise that allows you to participate in the spiritual realm. Here is a step by step process I follow to achieve this state:

Ø Go to a quiet place in your home that is free from distractions. (Turn off the telephone, make sure no one will disturb you, including pets.) Set up a place on the floor where you can lie comfortably with your arms at your side, your back flat on the floor and you chin titling down toward your chest. (If you have back problems be sure to support your knees in such a way to relieve the stress.) Now turn out the lights and take your position on the floor.

Ø Close your eyes and say to your subconscious, “I am going to relax.” Now begin counting from ten to one as you find yourself becoming increasingly more relaxed saying to yourself I will become quite relaxed, free from worry, alert yet comfortable knowing that I will be made aware of any emergencies by the intelligent universe if one should arise. Open your eyes.

Ø Now close you eyes, as you will once again count backwards from ten to one carefully relaxing each part of your body as you count down. Imagine a brilliant white light swirling above your head.

Ø Now with Ten, I relax my hands and forearms allowing the tension to flow first through my right hand and exiting out the fingertips as a brilliant white light flows into its place. Then feel the tension flowing from your left forearm out through the tips of your fingers on the left hand followed by the healing brilliant white light.

Ø Nine, I let the brilliant white light flow into my upper arms pushing the tensions away as the healing flows into my biceps and triceps. Say to yourself, I feel good, relaxed and happy.

Ø Eight, my shoulders and neck are completely relaxed as the brilliant white light of healing baths them and relaxes the tension.

Ø Seven, the brilliant white light that sets on the crown of my head is glowing as it sends the healing light to all parts of my body, the top of my head, my forehead and eyes, cheeks lips and jaw are all relaxed and pulsing with the healing energy of the brilliant white light.

Ø Six, I am relaxing more and more as the energy continues to proceed down my body.

Ø Five, my lungs, upper back and chest are releasing the tension as the brilliant white light flows into to heal and relax me.

Ø Four, my stomach is completely relaxed; there is no tension or discomfort in the area that is filled with the white light of healing. My lower back is relaxed as the white light pulses through my spine and heals all of the area releasing the tension.

Ø Three, the muscles in my arms and legs are completely relaxed

Ø Two, the brilliant white pulsing light is surrounding my body and moves into my calves, feet and toes exiting my body through my toes and coming back up to the top of my head.

Ø One, I am totally relaxed all over, all of the tension is gone from my body and the healing white light surrounds me with healing energy and protection. I am calm and happy.

Ø Keeping your eyes closed imagine that you are setting in a meadow of flowers as the sunbeams gently down around you.

Ø Now say to your self, “I control my spiritual journeys and remember everything in detail that occurs during the experience. “

Ø Now, ask your guardian angel to come forward and join you on grass. “Come forward angel and talk with me, let me know who you are.”

Ø When you are ready to return to the present, begin counting one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten. Open your eyes and find yourself completely awake and in your safe place.

Remain in the meadow for as long as you feel comfortable. Do not become dismayed if during this first visit to the meadow your angel does not come forward. There are many things that need to transpire during this relaxation practice in order to succeed. Perhaps the most important factor is to focus on the meeting and allow it to occur naturally. Achieving a relaxed state is not always easy in today's hectic world. In spite of what you might think there are times when we simply cannot let go of the issues we faced during the day. Be patient, in time you will achieve deep relaxation if you choose to do so. When you meet your guardian angel be sure to thank them for coming. Never hesitate to ask your guardian questions.
