What happened to your post, Cathy?

I kind of think you partly answered your own question, due to your guides revealing themselves during your dreams.

I'm aware of five regular Guides/helpers around me, but it can vary from each individual. I think it's widely recognised that we all have a master Guide who is with us for the duration, and then others may dip in and out, depending on what we are trying to achieve.

Try to cultivate a greater awareness of your own Guides - it's a thoroughly rewarding process, although frustrating at times! LOL

I have some questions....

How many years into your development before you got to know your main guide on some kind familiar level?
I'm wondering if mine will come out of the background eventually.

Before I read forums and realised not everyone has a close relationship with their guide I was kind of brainwashed by the Doris Stokes and Rosemary Alteas that have their guide more or less right in their face, infact I haven't read a medium biography where the guide hasn't shown up and made themselves known. So it was a suprise at first when I read this was not the common reality of most mediums.

There is even part of me that is strongly tempted to go and vist a medium as a go between me and my guides and find out when things will go into top gear but somehow I don't think I will be told much.

When did you notice the turning point in your development Danny?

I'm reading a book by Char Margolis, a US psychic medium I have never heard of and she said the first step is not to just believe you are a psychic medium but to know it as any doubt will block your abilities. Well I used to think I have some psychic ability, some medium ability but after thinking about the things I have got I now say I am a psychic medium and really know it. Just saying I'm a psychic medium has gave me such a boost in confidence.

Hi Cathy,

I guess the best advice I can give is NOT to compare your own development to anybody else. You are unique and as such, will have your own wonderful adventure!

As for me; I've been in development for about six and a half years -in fact, I'll post my own development story here, later on. And for the record, I still consider myself as a learner too. Always shall be for that matter.

I often go through long spells where my Guide stays in the background.

I'll have to get back to this post later today.....

My Guide is always there when I need him most, but he never interferes with my decision making. This would only serve to disempower me...

In my experience, spiritual growth and my relationship with my Guide, is a gradual process, which requires slow, deliberate and sustained effort, season after season. This is the way forward and will yield success.

May I ask, Cathy: how long have you been on your journey of development?

I have posted my own story on this board. I hope it offers a bit more insight into my own experiences.

It's been around two years that I made up my mind to become a medium and work on it. However I have read books about mediums and been interested in life after death for so many years prior to that.

My grandmother gave me my first medium book (Doris Stokes- voices in my ear when I was a teen) I had some small psychic experinces when I was in my teens (nothing earth shattering lol) and then later on when I meditated for stress relief after an injury, I would pick up some psychic stuff by accident.

I was turned off the psychic stuff because I would only get bits of the puzzel instead of the full picture. So I let go of meditation and took no notice of any further intution and developing it.

To be honest my psychic ability while a bit more stronger these days is not as important to me as mediumship, so I'm not really doing anything to make it stronger.

I will go and read your other post now.
