The Language of Spirit 2008/09/29 20:13
Hi everybody,

I feel drawn to copy and paste some of my writing here today. I hope it helps somebody.

THE LANGUAGE OF SPIRIT.

I remember years ago watching mediums perform their 'craft' and thinking that I would love to be able to do that! I also recall that preconceived ideas as to how mediums received their information, was a major stumbling block to my own advancement.
I assumed that you would clearly hear a voice in your mind, describing in wonderful detail, exactly what the returning spirit wanted to say, whilst I'm quick to point out that this is a reality for some mediums, in my humble experience, this is far from the case for many, especially in the early stages of development.

Before I continue this post I want to strongly emphasize the fact that there is no 'one size fits all' teaching method, but I will do my best to cover communication from my perspective. If this isn't your truth, then please teach me and share your experiences.

LESS OF ME, MORE OF SPIRIT.

I would like you to think carefully about this phrase (less of me, more of spirit). We are the vessels/channel for spirit to serve as their instrument. The more you can get your ego self out of the way, the greater the potential for communication becomes. *As a side note, I love it when I'm giving someone a message and I almost hear myself saying something to the recipient of the message, and it's something I didn't previously know.*

INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKING.

As the name suggests, it's quite simply when you are inspired to speak to a sitter, or audience etc. on a given topic, or perhaps the communicating spirit is using this highly effective mode to convey a message. I know in England if you are developing in the Spiritualist Churches, then as part of your training, you are required to take a Church service, speaking for a half hour, relying solely on inspired speaking. Whilst this does require absolute faith in your Guide. I can promise you that spirit will NEVER let you down, once you offer yourself in service in this manner.

Speaking from my own perspective, when spirit want to use me in this manner, I get a quickening of thoughts, an urgency and excitement to say something to that particular person. It often comes out so quickly, that I can barely keep up with it. I usually feel enveloped in the high, warm presence of my Spiritual Guardian during the proceedings. If I was to attempt to intellectualize, judge or second guess the information received, then it would impede the contact.

THE INNER SENSES (THE CLAIRSWOTSITS)

In module one we covered the spiritual attributes, commonly known as the "Clairs." These inner senses are also used in spirit communication, as well as psychic sensitivity work.

Clairvoyance (inner vision)
Clairaudience (inner hearing)
Clairsentience (touch) etc.

Fledgling mediums will often report frustration due to much of their communication coming in the form of pictures and symbols. It is then their responsibility (using their intuition) to decipher the meanings of such contact. I can tell you that as your sensitivity deepens, you are more likely to start hearing (clairaudiently) your spirit inspirer's.

Once you elect to develop as a spirit medium, you have the task of separating your own thoughts and feelings from those of a spirit world innhabitatant. This is initially the biggest challenge and is where the quest to know yourself comes into play... self awareness is the key to achieving greater/stronger/clearer links to the spirit realms. Once you know how you think and feel about everyday situations, then it becomes far easier to receive a communication from a spirit in your mind.

Early on in my own development, a spirit (who I would be unaware of) would be drawn to my light and might try and communicate with me. If this spirit died at their own hands, due to dark depression, then their strong emotions would negatively impact me. I would register this spirits depression in my auric field and take it on as my own. This brings up a whole host of teaching points: first of all, ideally, I should be grounded, closed down and protected. This would stop the problem in the first place, but let's us assume that I haven't done this.... If you suddenly feel depressed for no obvious reason, then investigate further. Once you begin to explore the possibility that these feelings don't belong to you, it's likely that this feeling will suddenly 'lift' from you and you feel 'lighter.' Unless you clear yourself out though, it will probably come back in soon after.

Ongoing self education is essential to keep you moving forward on your spiritual journey. It's far easier for your guides or other spirit communicators to impress your mind with information bound for a sitter, if this knowledge is already there in your memory banks. To give an example of this: the famous medium "John Edward" was doing a public demonstration of clairvoyance with his friend and mentor. It was his turn to get to his feet and he gave a message to a gentleman in the crowd. His Teacher 'tuned in' and followed what spirit were giving him. He gave this sitter a message, including pertinent details about the conditions which took the spirit over to the other side. He got the name of the rare blood disease and other scarily accurate medical procedures given. Once he sat down, his teacher said, how the heck did you get those medical facts?! She told him that she was tuning in, but never received, or hadn't even heard of the blood disease before. He went on to tell her that he had a long medical background before undertaking mediumship development. Smiley

Hi Danny,

What a fantastic informative post and just wanted I needed to read today so a big thank you!

Ego- Collapsing the ego is so important and a realisation I have been working on for a very long time now.

Inspirational Speaking- I know from my bit of inspirational writing so much profound beauty can automatically pop in drips and drabs.

I was sitting in the car today and out of the blue got an inspirational line of thought and it's just the most amazing feeling when you reflect on the meaning of it afterwards.

I can only imagine the trust involved needed to rely on it pouring out
consistently like a tap for the entire duration of your talk. I get so excited from small amounts, so to get an entire speech must be incredible!

I can't see myself doing anything like that any time in the near future but who knows years down the track I might being tempted/given the chance to get up there and give it a whirl.

When you hear your inner voice in a more sharper stronger thought prompting you to go and check or do something right that very minute for example and that thought was correct. Is that just your intution or is that considered part of clairaudience?

Hey Cathy,

Thanks for your response!

Let's remember that clairaudience is used in psychic readings/sensitivity exercises as well as mediumship.

In short, I do catagorize your experience as clairaudience. As you say, it's clearer than your own thought voice and it's good that you can discern the difference.

You seem to be enjoying a leap of growth at the moment!

Onwards and upwards.....

Hi Danny!

Thank you for clearing that up for me. As I really only have a basic understanding of each of the clairs.

Thanks for the confidence, I guess I do.
