Spirit art seems to be the Cinderella of the orthodox spiritualist gifts of mediumship. Since the days of Harold Sharp and Coral Polge, spirit artist have been trying to gain recognition for their abilities. But once again we have been knocked back by the SNU. Last year they announced that there would be a new qualification for Psychic Art, but this award or accreditation was with drawn before anyone could apply. The excuse being that they don't know how to asses it.

Come on what is there to assess? If the portrait is recognised and the mediumship correct, what else is there that they want?

Spirit Artists unite and let us see if we can gain the recognition we deserve.

Hello Diane,

I'm sorry to read of your plight, my friend.

Your talents (and others like you)are needed and as valid as any other expression of mediumship.

Why don't you start your own movement or organization?? I for one, would love to work with a spirit artist! Why waste time and energy with people who aren't willing to allow you to shine.

Hopefully next year there may be more workshops on Spirit art, and more chat sessions when I set them up.

Hi Danny,

Well things are looking up. I have been accepted by the Arthur Finlay College as an assistant tutor specialist in art, I am working on Italian week this August, then two more weeks early next year. Then I hope to get full tutor status.

Just returned from a really successful teaching trip to Copenhagen, and am hoping to go over to Spain in October.

I found this site after looking at your website. I love your work. I bought my partner several spirit art books recently and I must say after seeing your aurgraphs I want to take it up now as well. They are so pretty and remind me of fantasy art which I love.

Can I ask were you a professional artist beforehand? I know you don't need to have any ability but I can only imagine it really helps! I have none (though creative minded).

Hello Starkitty,

This is quite a large subject to discuss on this page. But I would say it is not vital to have artistic ability to do auragraphs, but it does help a lot of you can draw or at least learn to draw. The best thing to do is to start off with just form and colour. Perhaps just a flower and then read that. It has taken my 10 years or more to reach the stage I am now at. Producing very detailed and artistic drawings, but initially I started with ordinary paper and felt tip pens and worked drawing a flower or just bands of colour. Gradually as you become more and more accomplished, Spirit will push you to more complicated drawings.
Join an art class and learn how to use paint etc, it will all help.

I am away on Tuesday for a couple of weeks, but when I get back I hope to resume my chats on this site once again.
So keep an eye open for the notices.

If you look at the web album on my site you will see some of the work my students have produced. All of them beginners with no artistic training at all. Just let things flow
