Hi All
I sit in circle, I've recently joined a new one and last night I had a bit of a strange experience and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what it was.
We had been in meditation for around half an hour and I had just asked for protection and was accepting it when I felt very physically two hands on the top of my chest as though someone was stood behing me - this is fine I do get spirit touch and dont really mind it although this time it could have been a physical person the sensation was that strong (and ususally I just experience light brushing).
It felt as though the hands weren't just touching my skin but went deeper than that and all of a sudden I realised I was red hot - it was like a heat wave from my head down to my abdomen at which point I wasn't sure whether I should surrender to it as I was unsure what was happening and I had the feeling that if I did that I wouldn't be in control of what was going on. So I started to bring myself round from the meditation a bit and the feeling subsided.
I suppose my question is what were spirit trying to do to me? And has anyone else experienced this and if so what was the outcome.
I've had a similar experience once before a while ago....help!

Hi Beno,

This is nothing to worry about, often while in deep meditation spirit draw very close like this.
It almost feels as though they have you pinned down in the chair.
You can just accept that they are sometimes a bit over enthusiastic in there desire to interact with you. If this disturbs you and you don't like it then just send out a thought to them asking them to kindly step back and they will.
When one first sits then you will just experiences "cobwebs" on your face and hands, but as things develop and progress it feels more like an actual "touch".
You are obviously doing very well in the circle. keep it up. hope this helps. if you need anymore advice just leave me a message.

Hi Diane thanks a lot for your reply it made me feel a bit more secure about what was happening. I suppose I am stuck between a rock and a hard place - if it was good I would have been happy to go with it but I decided to air on the side of caution xx

Hi Beno,
I am pleased your mind is more at ease with this. It is up to your circle leader to control the circle and monitor and advise on all that is happening. Maybe spirit would like to take you deeper into trance control. But I must state that it is up to you. you have FREE WILL, you are in control. Maybe I should do a chat session on "How to run a circle" sometime
what do you think?

It would give folkes and idea of what happens and how to react. Just remember Spirit will never harm you and you are obviously greatly loved by them.

Diane - i think thats a great idea, to share experiences about what may happen in spirit contact. I've trawlled the internet and there is hardly anything on spirit touching you etc - the dynamics of spirit contact.
What would happen in trance control? My initial thought on the experience above was that it was a very intense healing especially with the heat I experienced but I also got the impression that if I surrendered to it i would have had to allow myself to be suspended in some way.
How do you know if you are going into trance?

Hi Beno,

yes I would guess that you were getting some form of healing from Spirit.
Trance control is a very large subject to explore, but in the future lets hope we can do some chats on it. I will speak to the powers that be about doing altered states of awareness.

I am away today for a week at the Arthur Findlay College, but will be home next Saturday. Take care until then
